Stepping toward Sustainability

Hello and happy crocheting, friends!

As 2015 begins, and resolutions for this new year are being made- we here at Entwine are considering life, health, and how to live a better and healthier life in 2015! Last year, we featured a number of recycled, sustainable patterns for things like market bags made from recycled plastic shopping bags, garments made from natural fibers like wool and cotton, and jewelry made from cotton thread. This year we are planning to step into sustainability like never before and feature natural fibers, hand crafted crochet hooks and include even more patterns that spotlight natural, sustainable and/or recycled materials! Will you join us in stepping towards sustainability?

Happy crocheting and stay inspired, friends!

2014 Christmas Craft Show!

This weekend was the annual Christmas vendor fair in our area, and after all of the weeks, the many long nights of crocheting, and all of the prayer possible- we did it! Entwine the Crochet magazine had a great booth, we had tons of product and we had a great time meeting and talking to new people about crochet!
And, to top it off, we got to meet Amy of Crochetville at the show! It was altogether a great time! Although we didn't get quite the turnaround we expected, we are praying for fruit in the magazine itself in the next days and weeks to come!

We had a drawing for crocheters to win a FREE subscription of Entwine the Crochet magazine, also! The winner will be announced very soon- so go like our facebook page at facebook.com/entwinecrochetmagaziune and stay tuned to find out if you won!

Overall, we had fun making everything and meeting everyone there!
And, now that we have another show under our belt, we can make it even better next year and grow from what we learned this year!

Did you see us at the Entwine booth this weekend?

Holiday Crochet

If you are in the US of A, then the business of the holidays is all around you! We have been busy little bees here at Entwine, crocheting and crafting, pricing and tagging for the annual Christmas Craft Show in our area! This time of the year tends to be overwhelming for crocheters and knitters, with holiday hustle and bustle, planning grand feasts and readying our homes to accommodate family coming from afar! With all of the craziness of life during holiday season, we quickly crochet and knit, sew and quilt gifts as quickly as we can whip them out with our own two hands in hopes of making everyone's holiday gifts perfect!
With crafters block sure to be on the horizon, it is not only our job but our JOY to do the hard work of seeking out the best patterns and designers for your projects- planned and last minute alike!
We have to be honest with you- This December's issue has us beyond excited!
We have compiled and thrown finishing touches on your favorite digital magazine to make this issue bigger than ever!
Whether you are looking for a beginner project, elegant patterns for baby toddler or adults- We have it for you! Or, if you know someone wanting to learn to crochet- a copy of Entwine in their email would have everything from tutorials, Learn to Crochet, Pattern language and techniques ready to go!
Will you celebrate with us this year and become a member of our big happy, crafty family?
We hope you choose entwine this year!

Keep those hooks hot and your inspiration alive, Crocheters! We are thankful for YOU!

UPDATE: Merino, ENTWINE'S New Series!

If you have read our previous posts, you know that we are writing a new series on different types of yarns and how they work up! After finishing one project out of %100 merino sk weight fiber, it is easy to say we are in love.
SK Weight was fairly fine, much finer than the standard worsted weight, but with a size 28 knitting needle (or a broom stick handle, as the name suggests) and size H crochet hook, the lace turned out marvelously.

We can't wait to continue in our exploration of finer fibers, and we hope you are as eager as we are, as well! Be following in the coming issues for more information, and fun inspiration and ideas into the vast world of yarn that awaits!
Go to www.entwinemagazine.com to sign up for your subscription today so you won't miss a single project! Also, remember that it still isnt too late to get the November holiday issue of ENTWINE! December is quickly approaching as well, and you won't want to miss all of the beautiful designs and holiday inspiration that is on its way!

November is Nearly Here!

November is rapidly approaching, and we are all abuzz about the up and coming issue of ENTWINE the crochet magazine!

We all know November is time for chillier weather to move in (some places already receiving snow) and, if you live in the USA, thanksgiving is right around the corner! Nothing says holiday season like snuggling up by the fire or just in the lounge in your favorite seat with a wonderful WIP in your hands and inspiring patterns at your fingertips!

With 9 patterns in this next month's issue featuring beautiful holiday and seasonal designs like a classic Christmas stocking, and two different teddy bear patterns, we can't help but be incredibly anxious for this particular issue to release!

We would love to challenge our readers to post pictures up in the comments of this and following blog posts, on our facebookpage www.facebook.com/entwinecrochetmagazine, or on twitter with the hashtag #entwinecrochet of all of your beautiful hand crocheted creations from November's issue!

Keep those hooks hot and those WIPS working, crocheters!

Handspun Merino and ENTWINEs new series!

We here at ENTWINE are learning much about natural fibers, merino, bamboo, felting, and other wool yarns! We are excited to announce that over the course of the next few issues, there will be a column about handspun, hand dyed, natural wool yarns! We have been sampling bamboo hooks and wonderfully soft wools and are thrilled to share what we are learning with you!
Here are some photos of what we have been getting to work with: (just a sneak peak!)
The greens are a blend of merino and polyester, and they are incredibly soft! Very similar in weight and ply to Caron Simply Soft or a baby worsted acrylic- only exceptionally softer!

This maroon is breathtakingly dyed, and oh so soft. Finer than acrylic worsted yarns, but wonderful to work on a WIP with! It's name is Romantic Ruby, and we can certainly see why!

Wool and other natural fibers are highly recommended for clothing, like sweaters, hats, socks and the like because of their durability, breathability, and warmth. How else would sheep stay warm in those brutal winters?  We are working on some top-secret stuff to preview this fiber with, and we think you are going to like it! Dive into the fiber arts with us!

We will continue to update and post teasers into the coming issues as time progresses!

Have you made anything with quality natural fibers?
What are your favorites to work with, and why?
We would love to hear your input, and see what you have made! Comment below and tell us what you have done and what you think! Are you as excited as we are for the new series? We hope so!
